A note from South Carolina Senator John Yancey McGill

Dear friends,

I want to extend a warm welcome to you and thank you for visiting my website. I hope that you will use this site to learn more about what we can do together in order to get things done in our area of Senate District 32. With your help, we can get what we want done for our counties: Florence, Georgetown, Horry and Williamsburg.

For the past twenty years as your senator, I have been dedicated and sensitive to serving all people in our area. With your help, I have lowered taxes, increased jobs, built and improved roads, ensured quality education and quality healthcare, and preserved our natural resources among other initiatives.

With our leadership and experience, we are now in the high ranks of seniority in the Senate. Currently, I am the only Democrat serving as a subcommittee chairman in the Executive Committee of Senate Finance. Within the Senate Finance Committee, there are only seven subcommittee chairmen. I am the chairman of the subcommittee that oversees the budget for all Natural Resources and Economic Development Agencies in the state. This subcommittee decides how much money the state allots for the twenty-six agencies falling into this category.
